Joel Johnson AIF®, CEPA
Managing Partner & Chief Growth Officer
Joe works with high-net-worth/income families, business owners, and corporate retirement plans to design coordinated, tax-efficient wealth strategies. His approach integrates investment management, proactive tax planning, insurance strategy, estate coordination, and business succession planning into one cohesive framework.
As Managing Partner of DeLong & Brower Financial Services, Joe leads a multidisciplinary team that collaborates across wealth advisory, CPA, and insurance disciplines. The firm operates through a holistic, team-based model built on the belief that complex financial lives require coordinated thinking, advanced tax strategy, and disciplined execution.
Joe’s areas of focus include:
Advanced tax-focused wealth planning
Exit and succession planning for business owners
Enterprise value growth prior to liquidity events
Corporate retirement plan design and fiduciary oversight
Multi-generational family wealth strategy
As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Joe helps business owners understand how personal wealth, business value, and exit timing intersect. His philosophy is clear: exit planning is not about selling a business — it is about building enterprise value intentionally and aligning that value with long-term family objectives.
Joe began his career in education and coaching after graduating from Hope College. He transitioned into wealth management in 2002, bringing that same coaching mindset into financial planning. Today, he remains committed to guiding clients with clarity, accountability, and strategic discipline.
He has been married for 25 years and is a proud father of three. Joe understands firsthand the financial and emotional dynamics families navigate at every stage of life. Outside the office, he enjoys travel, athletics, tennis, skiing, and coaching — experiences that continue to shape how he leads, competes, and serves his clients and team.
